Plan 9 From Outer Space www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0zW-du23OkWritten and directed by Edward D. Wood, Jr. (as portrayed by Johnny Depp in Tim Burton's Ed Wood), Plan 9 From Outer Space earned the title of the worst movie ever made 2 years after his death. It was to be the third of Wood's movies to star aging, drug-addicted former Dracula legend, Bela Lugosi (after the biopic, Glen Or Glenda and Bride Of The Monster). But Bela died before shooting started, so Wood decided to use footage he'd already shot of him, and mix it in with a stand in who was never allowed to show his face. Famous for horrible flying saucer "effects", tombstones that fall over and a million other mistakes, it became one of the few movies to make a fortune because it was bad. Bela Lugosi - The Dracula Character (character name from Wood's screenplay) Maila Nurmi (Vampira) - The Ghoul's wife Tor Johnson - Insp. Daniel Clay Gregory Walcott - Jeff Trent Mona McKinnon - Paula Trent Duke Moore - Lt. John Harper Tom Keene - Col. Tom Edwards Dudley Manlove - Eros Joanna Lee - Tanna John Breckinridge - The Ruler Edward Reynolds - Grave digger (uncredited) Reverend Jim Lymon - Minister at Clay's funeral (uncredited) Dr. Tom Mason - The Dracula Character/Lugosi Double (uncredited) Paul Marco - Patrolman Kelton Conrad Brooks - Jamie the cop Carl Anthony (Wuco) - Patrolman Larry

Haven't gotten to watch it all yet but the first 15 minutes was enough to get an idea of why he got voted worst film maker ever. And then I decided to look it up on movie mistakes.com, heres the results: www.moviemistakes.com/film2839Between the movie itself and Tim Burtons biography of Ed Wood I think his biggest weakness was over-confidence and seemingly infinate optimism. He would only ever do one tak of any scene, no matter what went wrong and ignored any mistakes, no matter how obvious they were.
